NYU Abu Dhabi, which will welcome its first group of students in the Fall of 2010, will develop the habits of mind and person at the heart of the finest undergraduate education. It will draw from the best students in the world, students who are serious and passionate about learning, who contribute an astounding range of talents, interests and experience, and who are excited about being pioneers in a formative educational enterprise.
NYU Abu Dhabi will equip students for leadership in all arenas of human endeavor. It will foster curiosity, creativity, and critical reflection. At NYU Abu Dhabi faculty and students will extend the frontiers of knowledge, and they will extend themselves.
NYU Abu Dhabi will stimulate and be a home for advanced research, and the NYU Abu Dhabi Institute will serve as a major research center. Engagement in research will be integral to the undergraduate experience at NYU Abu Dhabi, and it also will eventually drive the University's graduate programs.
NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU New York will also form the backbone of a fully connected Global Network University. As one of the two major hubs in the Global Network – and joined by additional sites on five continents -- NYU Abu Dhabi will present students with the foundation to become leaders in a global community.
